We were really impressed with the range of roofing jobs they can do. When we checked out some of their past projects, they’ve done it all. They’ve done cosy homes and even massive commercial spaces.
Additionally, they’ve dealt with flat roofs, traditional slating and tiling, and even a full refurbishment.
What really caught our eye, though, was their expertise in restoring historical and ageing roofs. They’re not just about making sure everything is solid and secure. They also keep Edinburgh’s architectural charm alive.
Plus, they offer an Insurance-Backed Guarantee (IBG) on their projects, which many clients appreciate. This guarantee ensures clients are protected even if things don’t go as planned with the contractor.
However, a few clients have complained about delays. One person we spoke to mentioned their project wrapped up about two months later than expected. So, while they do great work, timelines can sometimes stretch a bit.

“MR video surveyed our roof by drone August 2024 ahead of winter. A quote was made for a “belt and braces” physical tile check, gutter inspection, and some pointing. The MR guys arrived promptly 08:00 on the day – and were great. They were easy to speak to and were clear about what might be needed. After a physical walk over check – luckily only a couple of rosemary tiles needed replaced and a ridge tile was repointed … the gutters were inspected and were reported as fine. There was no need for potential masonry work (or associated scaffold, boarding, tipping) and consequently all was done by 11:30. As it was (luckily) a more simple job than expected – MR were happy to revisit the original scope of work and revise down the quote to reflect the actual work completed. Laura (operations manager) was great to deal with and overall I would recommend Morningside Roofing to check and carry out any required roofing works.”
