1. Hotel DC

Address: 207 Romford Rd
Phone: +44 20 8555 7831
Hotel DC is in Stratford, a lively area great for exploring London. The Olympic Park and Westfield Stratford City are close by, so there’s plenty to do.
The motel is also well-connected with excellent transport links, making it easy to get to central London or other areas.
The rooms are small but thoughtfully equipped with features like air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and smart TVs. They even have memory foam mattresses and blackout blinds to ensure comfort.
Each room also has a tea and coffee station, which we found handy for relaxing and starting the day.
Some guests we’ve talked to have mentioned issues with noise, either from neighbouring rooms or the ventilation system. We also noticed this when we stayed, so this might be something to keep in mind.
On the plus side, the hotel offers a complimentary breakfast buffet and unlimited access to freshly ground coffee and premium teas throughout the day.
This hotel is a hidden gem
“I can say, without question, that this hotel is a hidden gem. The staff are super friendly, and the facility is well maintained. My sons and I stayed the weekend to watch an NFL Europe matchup — Go Bears! They were skeptical because of our first experience in 2019, but were pleasantly surprised how nice the facilities were. We highly recommend them.”

“Friendly staff, very clean and quiet rooms. The hotel is central and nicely located for transport. I had a good night’s sleep and a comfortable stay. Breakfast in the morning was quite nice too!”

2. Star Hotel

Address: 97-99 Shepherds Bush Rd
Phone: +44 20 7603 2755
Star Hotel’s location is a big plus. It’s close to two major metro stations and within walking distance of a large Tesco and local shops, making it easy to get around and grab whatever you need.
We love how they offer a good variety of rooms, from singles to family-friendly quads. Each one comes with modern features like USB sockets, toiletries, and comfy bedding, ensuring a pleasant and hassle-free stay.
Many guests talk about the cosy, welcoming vibe that makes the place feel like a home away from home. However, some have mentioned that the common areas could use a more thorough cleaning.
While the hotel doesn’t offer extensive dining options like some other motels, we think it’s still a great choice for budget-conscious travellers because of its competitive pricing.
This little hotel did not disappoint
“This little hotel did not disappoint. It was exactly as described. It’s very clean and in a quiet neighbourhood. The best part for me were the staff. Super friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend if you want something nice on a budget.”

Location is amazing and it has a good price
“I like this hotel. It has a good price and comes with a super clean room. The Szaffi are kind and helpful (they helped me to manage The taxi to the airport, where I can find shops, restaurants. Location is amazing, 8 minutes away from Shepherd Bush/ Hammersmith stations so easily you can be in Central London.”

3. Motel One London – Tower Hill

Address: 24-26 Minories
Phone: +44 20 7481 6420
Motel One London – Tower Hill is a great choice for anyone wanting to explore London’s historic landmarks with ease. It’s just a short walk from the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, and the Tower Hill Underground station. It’s
The hotel caught our eye with its sleek, modern design. Inside, the rooms offer premium bedding, soundproofed walls, flat-screen TVs, and air conditioning.
However, the rooms are quite small. We also think they lack enough storage space for luggage or personal items.
Some guests also noted insufficient mirrors, making grooming less convenient.
On the plus side, the multilingual staff are friendly and helpful, making it easy to address any requests during your stay.
The hotel is also eco-certified, which is a nice bonus for travellers who prioritise sustainability.
The staff were friendly and provided excellent customer service
“The location is excellent, very close to Aldgate tube station, with easy access to local attractions and coffee shops. The room was small but comfortable and had all the basics you need. The staff were friendly and provided excellent customer service. However, one downside was that the curtains don’t block the morning light effectively. They should be thicker or have two layers to ensure better sleep quality. Despite this, the hotel’s location, comfort, and excellent staff made for a pleasant stay. Highly recommended!”

“Good size room, good amenities, very clean and the most comfortable bed I’ve stayed in. Very quiet considering the size of the hotel. Friendly staff and great location.”

4. The Luxury Inn

Address: 156 Tottenham Rd
Phone: +44 20 7683 3056
The Luxury Inn is a small boutique hotel that offers a stylish and intimate atmosphere. With just four rooms, it feels more personal and cosy compared to larger hotels.
The inn has all the modern amenities you’d need, like free WiFi, a garden, and a shared lounge. The rooms are well-furnished, and each has its own private bathroom.
While fans are provided in the rooms, we think air conditioning would be a good addition. This is especially true during warmer months as the rooms can get quite hot.
There’s also a loft-style lounge and dining area where you can help yourself for breakfast. It’s a great place to relax and chat with others while still maintaining an upscale feel. The design is modern and sleek, perfect for those who want a stylish place to stay.
That said, many guests have mentioned that the open-plan design can make the inn a bit noisy, especially with sounds from the shared kitchen and lounge areas.
Lovely space and excellent communication
“Comfortable and quiet ensuite room was just the job for our one night stay – decent size bed, comfy pillows, nice shower. The highlight of the place (in our opinion!) is the brilliant kitchen/dining/lounge area on the first floor specifically for guests’ use. This is a lovely space – bright, comfortable, and equipped with everything you need for tea, coffee and a tasty breakfast. Access, check-in, bag drop and check out were all good too. Excellent communications before and during our stay meant we felt well looked after throughout.”

Accommodation is very comfortable with everything you could need with 24-hour access to the well-stocked kitchen which makes it a very relaxing place to stay. Really can’t fault anything about it and will definitely use it again!”

5. The Z Hotel Soho

Address: 17 Moor St
Phone: +44 20 3551 3701
The Z Hotel Soho is in the lively Soho district, making it easy to check out nearby spots like Leicester Square, Covent Garden, and West End theatres. It’s a great choice if you want to experience the city’s nightlife, dining, and culture.
We love that the hotel is a mix of old and new, with 12 Georgian townhouses that have been converted into a modern space.
The 85 rooms are a bit smaller than most. However, the smart design makes them feel open and comfortable.
Each room has everything you need, including a wet room, HD TV, and free Wi-Fi.
However, a few guests we’ve interviewed mentioned that the heating and air conditioning units can be noisy and ineffective.
On the brighter side, the hotel offers a good balance of luxury and affordability. It also offers some nice extras, like free wine and cheese in the evenings, an all-day café for breakfast and snacks, and friendly staff.
You cannot beat the location!
“You cannot beat the location! Theatres steps away, bar and restaurants with a variety of choices, and historical sites within walking distance. The hotel staff were amazing and very friendly! The room itself was just ok. The bed is in a nook, so one of us had to crawl across if you needed to get up. The wet area/bathroom held the water from the shower, which flows through the door. We were on the fourth story, and the Friday night crowd was late and loud. However, with the windows closed, could barely hear. Recommend with note about the bed position in mind.”

Clean, comfortable, cosy rooms
“In the centre of it all! Literally 15 steps from the front of the Harry Potter theatre, a bit of a walk from Tottenham or Leicester Tube stops. Clean, comfortable, cosy rooms. We didn’t eat the breakfast – lots of restaurants and a Sainsburys nearby. Rather noisy on Fri/Sat nights, but if you’re staying out late yourself you won’t notice, right?”
