One thing that stands out is their flexibility. When we called them for an undercover consultation, scheduling was straightforward. They’re also accommodating when it comes to timelines.
It’s also reassuring that their team is fully vetted and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)-checked, so there’s a sense of trust from the start.
Their quality of work also receives a lot of praise, with people noting how thorough and detail-focused they are. They really make an effort to ensure everything is level, secure, and finished to a high standard.

The Handy Squad has been around since 2005, run by brothers Edward and Charlie Harris. Unlike some of those app-based handyman services where you never know who’s going to show up, they keep things personal.
When we called them, we actually got to talk to someone in the office when booking. It makes a difference if you have specific requests or need a bit of reassurance.
They vet all their handypeople, which is always a plus when you’re letting someone into your home. And they cover pretty much everything—plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and even bigger renovation jobs.
Some customers we spoke to mentioned they’re also pretty good about fixing issues when things don’t go as planned. One customer shared how the team tried multiple times to find the right stopcocks for her hot and cold water because of her rare and complex water layout.
But like with any service, not every experience is perfect. A few people have mentioned issues with no-shows or incorrect appointment confirmations, which can obviously be frustrating.

We’ve also spoken to some elderly customers. They said the added attention to them made them feel valued and heard. It’s actually a thoughtful touch.
Most customers seem happy with the service, praising the team’s professionalism, skill, and honesty. Mark and Martin, in particular, get many positive mentions for their workmanship and for offering helpful advice.
