5 best emergency dentists in London to solve that toothache nightmare

  • Availability and Hours: We chose dentists who offer flexible scheduling, including late-night, weekend, or 24/7 emergency services.
  • Response Time: By interviewing some patients, we evaluated how quickly each clinic accommodates emergencies. Those who prioritise same-day or walk-ins are a plus.
  • Patient Care: We assessed patient care through reviews and firsthand experiences. We selected dentists who are professional, empathetic and have effective pain management.
  • Pricing and Transparency: We evaluated clinics to see if they provide clear, upfront pricing with no hidden fees.

1. Baker Street Dental

baker-street-dental

Address: 102 Baker St

Phone: +44 20 7935 5559
Business hours:

  • Monday to Sunday: Open 24 hours

Website

Baker Street Dental has been around since 1973, and they have built a solid reputation.

One of the biggest things that sets them apart is their 24/7 emergency care. They handle same-day root canals, extractions, and even tricky wisdom tooth removals.

When we visited, we noticed they’re pretty up-to-date with their technology. They have in-house 3D CT scanning and CEREC tech to diagnose issues and even make crowns or veneers on the same day. That’s a big plus for anyone who doesn’t want to deal with multiple appointments.

They also have options for nervous patients, like sedation and painless injection systems.

It’s also nice to know that they have staff who speak multiple languages, including French, Mandarin, and Arabic. This makes things easier for patients who aren’t fluent in English.

That said, we did hear from a few patients who had mixed experiences. Some were advised to go through invasive treatments to stop the pain. However, when they got a second opinion elsewhere, they were told it wasn’t necessary—and the pain eventually went away on its own.

It’s something to keep in mind if you ever feel unsure about a treatment recommendation.

Pros

  • About 50 years of experience
  • Open 24/7
  • Wide range of services
  • Advanced technology
  • Sedation and painless injection systems
  • Multilingual staff

Cons

  • A few reports about overtreatment

We are so grateful for their care and highly recommend them

“My partner needed an emergency root canal and was incredibly nervous going in, but Dr Boulis and Nurse Maria were absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, they were so kind and thoughtful, taking the time to reassure her and make her feel completely at ease. Dr. Boulis was incredibly professional and explained everything clearly, whilst Nurse Maria was so very on top of everything and supportive throughout the procedure. Thanks to them, what could have been a stressful experience turned into something far more manageable. We are so grateful for their care and highly recommend them to anyone in need of expert (and compassionate) dental treatment!”

He walked me through each step as we proceeded through the treatment

“I went to visit Baker Street Dental as I needed an emergency root canal due to extreme pain. I thankfully was able to be seen by the incredible Dr Boulis within two hours of my call. As a nervous patient, I cannot recommend him enough. He walked me through each step as we proceeded through the treatment, was patient and kind, and did an excellent job. Thank you Dr. Boulis, nurse Maria, and the rest of the team at Baker Street Dental.”

Night and Day Emergency Dentist Acton usually operates from 7 am to 11 pm. However, if you need them outside those hours, they’ll still take you in.

Just keep in mind there’s a call-out fee that covers consultation, X-rays, and the first round of treatment to help with the pain.

When we visited, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive to every patient’s concerns and did their best to make everyone feel comfortable.

Dr. Maria, in particular, is very loved by patients. The parents we talked to loved how gentle and patient she was with kids. Many say she really helps ease their anxiety, which isn’t always easy at the dentist’s.

The nurses also do a great job reassuring patients and explaining everything clearly. Their free after-care has also been a big plus, with patients appreciating the extra support.

That said, not everyone has had a smooth experience. Some mentioned long wait times, saying they were left in pain for hours before being seen. This might’ve been on particularly busy days, though, since most patients we heard from said they were accommodated fairly quickly.

Pros

  • Open 24/7
  • Friendly and attentive staff
  • Great with kids
  • Clear communication
  • Free after-care

Cons

  • Call-out fee for late-night visits
  • A few reports about long wait times

Dr. Ali, in particular, has built strong relationships with his patients. Some have been seeing him for years because of his calm approach and clear explanations.

One thing that really stands out about this place is how easy it is to get an appointment, even on short notice. A lot of people mentioned how accommodating the team is, whether it’s for an emergency or just a routine visit.

When we visited, we noticed the clinic was clean and well-kept. It’s in an accessible spot near Bounds Green tube station, so getting there isn’t a hassle. The reception area is quiet and relaxed, making the treatment rooms comfortable.

The staff are friendly and make the whole experience feel less stressful. It’s a big plus if you’re someone who gets nervous about dental visits.

That said, some patients did mention concerns about pricing. A few felt the costs weren’t clearly explained upfront and were surprised by the final bill, which is something to keep in mind.

Pros

  • Easy appointment scheduling
  • Gentle approach
  • Clear explanations
  • Accommodating team
  • Well-maintained clinic
  • Accessible location

Cons

  • A few reports about lack of pricing transparency
  • Potential overcharging

Their warm and personable manner makes every visit pleasant

“Dr Ali is an exceptional dentist and an outstanding individual. We first met him in 2004, during a dental emergency, and have never considered another dentist since then. Dr Ali’s treatments are always painless, and we’ve never had recurring issues. He provides detailed treatment plans and receipts – which makes it easier to claim from insurance. His warm and personable manner makes every visit pleasant. We highly recommend Dr. Ali to anyone seeking top-notch dental care. He is not just a great doctor but a wonderful person to know.”

Vale Dentist Practice has a way of making dental visits feel a lot less stressful. From the moment we stepped in, the staff was warm and welcoming. The clinic itself is modern and well-organised.

When we spoke to some of their former patients, they told us how thorough and patient the dentists and hygienists are. They took the time to explain what was going on, so they were never left wondering what was next.

If you get nervous about dental work, they do a great job of keeping things calm and making sure you’re comfortable.

They’re also great in a pinch. One person shared how their daughter broke a front tooth just hours before a flight. Vale fixed it up in time without any issues.

Months later, it’s still holding up perfectly. It says a lot about how efficient and reliable they are when it comes to emergencies.

That said, a few people were caught off guard by the final cost of their treatment, so it’s worth double-checking pricing details beforehand. If you’re planning a visit, it’s a good idea to ask about all potential costs upfront to avoid any surprises.

Pros

  • Friendly and welcoming staff
  • Modern and well-organised clinic
  • Patient-focused care
  • Communicative about the process
  • Efficient in emergencies

Cons

  • Pricing transparency issues

My experience with the practice was step-by-step quality, care, and honesty

“My experience with the practice was step-by-step quality, care, and honesty. I felt very nervous as I had already seen three different dentists before meeting Benjamin from the moment I talked with him made everything seem like I had hope and I can honestly say what a miracle worker he is, my front tooth was knocked out by tools in my shed I have miss match crowns at the front of my mouth, but now I have the best smile I feel very confident with my new white teeth I would highly recommend Benjamin”

The dentist I saw was so friendly and nice

Saw me at 1 am in the morning regarding terrible pain in a cracked tooth. I am deathly scared of dentists because of a bad experience when I was a child and haven’t been to one in years- so I was VERY anxious but the pain was too much. The dentist I saw was so friendly and nice, put me at ease, recommended a proper plan to get me back on track and solved the pain almost immediately. Not cheap (as to be expected for private dentistry) but to be honest not ridiculously expensive either considering it was 1 a.m. at the last minute. Really would highly recommend!”

Bayswater Dental Clinic isn’t open 24 hours, but their late-night hours make them a solid choice for emergency dental care. They also offer same-day walk-ins, and if you’d rather skip the hassle, you can book online.

When we visited, we were surprised by the range of services they offer. They don’t just do emergency treatments but also general and cosmetic dentistry, like Invisalign, veneers, and teeth whitening.

If you need a quick denture repair, they’ve got on-site technicians who can fix it on the same day, which is a huge plus.

The staff also left a good impression. We heard from several patients that dentists are skilled and professional. The team also does a great job of making people feel comfortable, even in stressful situations.

That said, when we compared their rates, their prices were on the higher side compared to some other clinics.

Pros

  • Late night availability
  • Same-day appointments
  • Wide range of services
  • On-site lab for denture repairs
  • Friendly and professional staff

Cons

  • Not 24/7
  • Higher pricing

Everyone’s friendly, polite and professional

“The staff are very lovely here! I’ve been to see the dentist for an emergency appointment and the hygienist. Great facility, with barely any waiting when you get there and everyone’s friendly, polite and professional. Procedures are quite pricey though but that’s expected of a private clinic. Would recommend”

They made sure that I was not experiencing pain and discomfort

“I broke my tooth in half and after researching for an emergency dentist around me I found Bayswater Dental Clinic. To begin with, I hate needles and dental treatments but Dr Motahar made me somewhat relaxed, with the way he investigated the extent of the ‘damage’, and the way he had a thorough discussion with me with regard to the options for my treatment and made me understood what needed to be done.  During the process, he made sure that I was not experiencing pain and discomfort.  I was travelling the following day and he did as much as he could to ensure that I wouldn’t have any ensuing problems during my travel.  I’ll be back in London in November and I’m looking to pursue a permanent solution to this particular tooth.  Thanks guys for looking after me.”
