Our experience in Escape Newcastle was an hour of adrenaline, brainpower, and laughs we won’t forget anytime soon.
The staff greeted us with a mix of enthusiasm and mystery. We picked the Prison Breakout room as it seems like a good starting challenge. The setup was so realistic we half-expected a guard to come banging on the cell door and the details really pull us into the story.
For those who like a darker twist, Demon Barber brings a sinister vibe with its mystery of missing townspeople. We peeked inside and immediately knew we had to come back for that one.

We also visited Escape Key and the building itself has an old-world charm. It sets the stage before we even lock eyes on the puzzles.
When we arrived, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect. We knew there were rooms like Witch, Plague, and Armageddon. But what really drew us in was the fact that each one of these rooms educated us in Newcastle’s history.
The puzzles are no joke, either. When we tried the Armageddon room, let’s just say saving the world in under an hour is every bit as intense as you’d imagine.
Pro tip:
For the best experience, aim for a group of six, but you can still enjoy the game with smaller or larger groups.

During our visit to the EXIT Newcastle, we decided to sign up for The Attic—one of their scarier rooms. From the second we were briefed by the friendly staff, the adrenaline kicked in.
The execution is far from straightforward since every clue felt like a lifeline as we pieced together fragments of a sinister story. It felt like living inside a horror movie, for real.
They’ve got a range of rooms to suit every vibe. We found ourselves signing up for Fiorella’s Cave just to shake things off from The Attic. We weren’t disappointed since it’s like stepping into a storybook with its whimsical vibe.
Pro tip:
If you’re heading to EXIT Newcastle, don’t worry if you’re a first-timer—the staff is super helpful and explains the games well. Just don’t be afraid to ask them if you need some help.
